Hi All,

I've been asked to spec a PA system for, and I quote - "sports day and parties"...

The field is reasonably small, so I don't need anything massive (basically a Junior School size football field with a track around it).

It will be used for music and announcements I'm guessing, so something portable and with a wireless mic included.

Looking at the following so far:

We have something similar, although it's a 1 speaker set and doesn't have a CD drive, and we find it fine for random events all over the place requiring what is vaguely called "sound", and also use it out on the fields for sports day, so I would imagine something like that would be ideal.

I'd get one or two of these instead as they're not much more and then you have two, so can use them for separate things or link them together.

Also get a pair of tripods, elevating the speakers is massively important for spreading sound!

+1 for tripods, they really should be an essential rather than a "nice to have".

That set you link to looks ok - just be aware 50w is a little weedy for outdoor use! I'd also look to keep the microphones in the cubby hole and get rid of those holders - they'd only get knocked.

We have a Denon Envoi which does the same job - a little beefier for power output, but I feel out of your budget. Be aware that using the CD player etc will probably cut your battery life in half, and that power input doesn't look particularly heavy duty, plus if you're running on batteries it might not be as powerful!
