UNCL3LARRY Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 (edited) Hi all, This is a strange one for you all. I have a 2TB WD Green HDD, I took it out of my PC to use elsewhere, did what I needed to then brought it back home. When I plug it into my PC it doesn't detect it in Device Manager, Disk Management or anything. I took it back to where I used it, it sees it fine with no issues. I low level formatted it, smart tested it and it came back all clear. I took it back home again, still nothing. Tried new SATA cables, new SATA power cable, new SATA socket in my mobo that I know works. If I start to reinstall windows it picks up the drive as normal. Anyone have any suggestions, completely stumped. Thanks in advance! EDIT: System specs below Gigabyte F2A85XM-HD3 Mobo 16GB Corsair Vengeance Gigabyte NVidia GTX 970 AMD A8 5600K Quad Core 3.GHz CPU Corsair 750M PSU PNY 128GB SSD Samsung Evo 128GB SSD 2x 2.5" 750GB drives in RAID 0 (1 WD, 1 Seagate) 2x 3.5" 1TB drives in RAID 1 (1 Toshiba, 1 WD) And hopefully by the end of this thread a WD 2TB too!! XiJ Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Do other drives get detected and work okay on your home mobo? I’m thinking a power thing. Does it spin up when connected ?
UNCL3LARRY Posted October 14, 2017 Author Posted October 14, 2017 (edited) It does spin, my other drives work fine. I will try taking out a couple of other drives first and having another try UPDATE: I unplugged my other 2 3.5" drives, still doesn't pick up my drive. Added my entire system specs are in original post. Edited October 14, 2017 by UNCL3LARRY
