jamesleonard Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Hi all-- I wanted to add in a couple of resources that may be useful. For those keen to learn more about international data transfers, please see this Blog post, which details the European Union’s Data Protection Authorities confirmation that Google Cloud services’ contractual commitments fully meet the requirements to legally frame transfers of data from the EU to the rest of the world, in accordance with EU Data Protection Directive. In addition, this GDPR page includes additional resources/information and is updated often. For those interested in diving deeper, I would encourage you to register for the first Google for Education Privacy & Security Summit hosted at our Victoria Offices in November. 1

Many thanks for the additional feedback, James. Google's use of Model Contract Clauses has been fantastic to help many schools and LAs take on Google Services. We look forward to many updates from you as things progress

Sorry to open an old post but does Google Cloud services include G Suite? Where should I look for G Suite GDPR compliance?
mavhc Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 So many false rumours going around about Google and GDPR, especially by people selling Microsoft solutions. Today's was: Google's solution is to float a data centre in international waters. They really need to fight back against Office 365 more. 1
enjay Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 float a data centre in international waters. That rumour crops up every few years, normally to do with companies wanting to run illegal file-sharing sites.
