So here's a quick question I'm sure you guys and gals can help me with:

I'm about to set up a new backup server which will be run as a Hyper-V VM on a 2-node cluster. I've got a dedicated 6TB LUN to use for backup data. Should I:

1) Directly connect the LUN to the VM? Or

2) Make a big ol' VHDX almost as large as the LUN and give that to the VM?

I'm assuming option 2 is best (for portability etc, even though handling a VHDX that big will be quite cumbersome), but I feel it's probably worth a few seconds of thought!
