Morning, we may have something that could work for you depending on your alarms and the service you're looking for. We work with an Alarm Receiving Centre that offers a great service, would require a conversation though. One of our guys would be happy to give you a call later today to see if it fits in with what you're after.

both places I have worked, have a phone line dedicated to the fire and burglar alarm. They contact a monitoring station who in turn call out the Caretakers. We have also had a GSM link which could be set to phone a duty mobile phone. As Network Manager I would probably be passing this issue to a Premises Manager but recommend a physical phone line away from other systems.

Thanks for responses. We used to have a redcare line but this was terminated due to cost a long time ago before I arrived.

Our intruder alarm dials our site controller, then me and then the site manager until someone accepts the call.

So we just need something for the Fire Alarm system, ideally the same sort of setup where it calls a control room, then they call a "site" mobile phone then each of the other responders. Our Fire Alarm maintenance company do not offer this type of service but will hook up the phone line for any service we go with. @Net-Ctrl I will send you a PM for contact details.

They call you before the site manager? I would be swapping that around. Usually its; Site Manager, Caretakers and then the Headteacher. Hopefully you're getting a call out allowance. My current place, we still have a residential site manager so he deals with it first.

Site controller first as he lives on site. Then me as I am next closest (usually never have to come out as site controller always there). Then site manager as he lives 30mins away.

And if nobody accepts the call Joe Bloggs is in your building, clearing it out, then on his way?

We also have a police station on site. So I would hope they would have a look!

But no Fire Station?

I have to ask... why is there a police station in the school?

We have a number of public services on our site, including a public library, a local council office and a public leisure centre. We own the buildings and have a lease on the land, then rent it out to them.

Police are pretty much always on site so very helpful with any problems we have and giving talks to the students!

We have the local PCSO's office on our site. One PCSO is attached to the school, the others work in the community but have the use of the office due to closures of local police stations.
