Hi Guys..

Afternoon to you all..

 

I got Toshiba NB200 Latop which is small and old laptop. Im trying to install Windows 10 32bit version on that laptop, when i have completed installed and joined to domain etc.

I notice its very slow when login and go onto internet etc.. very slow..

 

Is there Slim version of Windows 10 Edu where it can use only internet, office 365 and join domain ? Before i scrap that laptop as written off.

They're very old netbooks - they weren't quick when new so this is a tough one to sort. Max out the RAM (2GB appears to be the limit) and put an SSD in it. Anything else will be a waste of time. Beyond that, not much you can do - those Diamondville Atoms are 32 bit only and that one is single core with Hyperthreading - not a powerhouse!

I installed Windows 10 Pro 64 on one computer in our oldest IT room, Core 2 Duo E83400 3GHz and 2GB ram. 128GB ssd though (as I can just put those in new computers, not wasted)

 

Apparently it's the most popular machine in the room, kids love Windows 10 it seems.

Yes you right it very old laptop and its slow when using windows 10, but when using windows 7 its quick.

 

maybe I will scrap that notebook...hmmmm what you think guys..

If you're thinking for general use, scrap it. Might be worth having nearby as a quick-fix machine for occasional browsing, but don't subject your users to it. You can get decent refurb laptops for less than £200 - that's a better place to put money (and time).
