Title: IT Support Engineer

Location: Lewisham

Hours of Work: Full Time 8:00am – 4:00pm

Salary: £19,000 – £24,000

 

Job Purpose:

 

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated person to join our IT team. Your main role for this position will be ensuring the smooth running of the IT provision within a school setting. You will be hands on with a wide range of technologies and services in an ever-changing environment.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

- To monitor and respond to all tickets which are logged via the helpdesk. Where needed escalate the tickets for further support

- To ensure classroom IT is maintained and ready to be used. This includes projector maintenance/configuration, interactive whiteboard connectivity and audio

- Installation and deployment of new hardware

- Maintenance of staff devices, both software and hardware are working to ensure lessons can be delivered

- Maintenance of student devices. This will require termly checks on the laptops trolleys and ICT suites to ensure they fully function for students to use

- Ensure new and existing accounts are working within the school’s local domain

- Maintaining access and permissions to SharePoint environments

- Be able to re-image any device using the school’s reimaging solution

- To support the staff in low level training which will help their knowledge and use of IT within the school

- To act accordingly and respond quickly to any abuse to the IT infrastructure

 

 

Desirable technical knowledge and experience:

 

- 1^st/2^nd line support role, ideally within the Education Sector

- Familiar use and knowledge of Windows 7 desktop and Server 2012 environments

- Use of Apple software/hardware

- SIMS.net - management information system

 

Personal qualities

 

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally

- Personal motivation and enthusiasm to learn and progress

- Good time management and punctuality

- Ability to work proactivity and to show good planning and organisation skills
