Online Data Collection

Hi All,

 

I've been asked to come up with a way of collecting parent contact and admission data for SIMS that has always gone out on paper and manually inputted. Who else already does it and what methods do you use?

That's what the SIMS Learning Gateway should be good at.

 

But if you don't have that you need 2 things, a form, and a way to convert that form to ctf, or just a lot of alt-tab, ctrl-c, alt-tab, ctrl-v

 

Form wise if you have office365 or google apps they both have form creation systems

Thanks. Are we happy that Google Forms or O365 is currently DPA compliant and will be GDPR compliant for this sort of thing?

Probably, they're more secure than any other company on the planet, just make sure the resulting data can only be opened by accounts with non sms based 2fa, and delete it once imported

 

This is not advice on GDPR, but actual security that matters.

G Suite is also GDPR compliant.
