JTaylor Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Hi I am using Apple Configurator 1.7.2 (560) to setup iPads. I have been able to setup iPad 2s with IOS 9.3.5 butIi am unable to setup iPad 4s or iPad airs with IOS 10.3.3. Every time i try to prepare an iPad 4 or air i get the error "Unable to activate" and the details show "Uknown (AMDevice Error=2)". I have had a look round a few forums and can't find an answer. if anyone else has had a similar experience or knows more about apple configurator than I do (which lets face it won't take much) then any help would be much apreciated. Brimstone Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 The first thing I'd suggest is upgrade to AC2... 1
JTaylor Posted September 18, 2017 Author Posted September 18, 2017 Unfortunately the person who did this job before me was adamant that we couldn't upgrade to AC2. these devices were initially setup on the version of AC I am running but this time I'm getting errors from it.
XiJ Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 You can upgrade to AC2 and the installer will migrate data. AC is only gonna give you more further problems as we get newer OS'
mikkydoos Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 This was happening to me a couple of days ago. Configurator 2 will work. 1 won't. Pain is you might as well recreate your profiles whilst you're at it - which don't apply very well on this OS version.
