p3t3r Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Hi All, We have two money loaders using the Microcoin QL we need to update to take new £1 coins. After an awful experience when we sent the note takers to be updated for new £5 notes we decided to do this ourselves. From the documentation it doesn't look difficult, but you need the USB TL6 Test Program. I'm pretty sure we used to have a copy but can't find it. I was wondering if anyone here has a copy they'd be willing to share? Thanks!
Meldrew Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Hi, We have Microcoin SP, not QL, but QL appears to be the the same: you can put the unit into learn mode. You have to put a minimum of 10 coins through. See Microcoin Global Bill Acceptors USA UK Australia - Coin Validators - Products - Microcoin QL All I would say to look out for though is the code that the unit sends to your software to describe what the coin was - from memory self programmed coins are something like OP001 (Operator Programmed) rather than GB001A GB for the country, 001 for £1 (a £2 might be GB002A) and the final letter for the version of the coin. Your software may not understand the OP codes and what they mean, so try it first! Meldrew
p3t3r Posted September 12, 2017 Author Posted September 12, 2017 Thanks for the info. We tried that but it didn't work as the instructions indicated. Currently contemplating having someone come out and update it for us.
