Staff Code Change

Good morning,

 

A couple of members of staff have got married... Their name has been changed accordingly on SIMS yet that have requested that their staff code is changed to reflect this. I explained that this is the unique identifier to the database but unfortunately it needs to be changed.

 

is there a simple way to do this without creating a new account and having to change the attached logins?

 

Any help will be appreciated.

The staff code is not a unique identifier, some staff don't even have one! You can freely change it in Focus -> Person -> Manage Classroom Staff if they are teaching staff, or the normal way in Personnel if they are not assigned to a timetabled period (eg, admin staff).

 

I say freely, you still have caveats. You will need to talk to your timetabler to make sure the new staff code matches the one in T6 or the export will go wrong. But that's really easy to do.
