It was to put P4 before lunch. I have sorted it. it seems that the cycle before started on the 4th and the one I was trying to add I was also putting on the 4th. I did it starting on the 5th and it worked!

In the cycle I had to swap the lunch period with period 4. I tried to do “Exchange Periods on all days” but that didn’t do anything. So instead I removed the lunch period and added a new lunch period in the correct place. I corrected part timers and any lunch duties. But now when I send the updated cycle to SIMS it just spins for ages like it has crashed Very stressed right now!

Last year we moved to a 2 week timetable using Interleave. For next years TT I copied our current TT... I was informed it would be safer to start a fresh T6 file. I have now done this and imported everything I need. I have a couple of questions... On the Cycle I have added break and 2 additional periods (User 1 and 2) as we have done previously, but these are indicated in green rather than red (as I expect), why is this? In the Model, it displays 60!, even though there are 60 periods, I expected this not to be 60. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Good morning, A couple of members of staff have got married... Their name has been changed accordingly on SIMS yet that have requested that their staff code is changed to reflect this. I explained that this is the unique identifier to the database but unfortunately it needs to be changed. is there a simple way to do this without creating a new account and having to change the attached logins? Any help will be appreciated.

We are having similar issues. Before the half term we had a detention register report which worked with no problems. Over the break the Network Manager did some updates which has now made these reports stop working. Any advice on what he can maybe do to sort this?

Good morning, It seems we had some classes in SIMS that have been renamed in Nova T6 and instead of the new name just being updated when exported to SIMS it has instead created a duplicate. So now 1 class has the new name and 1 the old. I assume this is because SIMS keeps the historical classes as they were created during the academic year. Would a way to resolve this be by exporting the T6 file with the date of September 1st?

Hello, I need to delete attendance grades. A student was in transition from moving away from the School and had been given "Z" grades, but then his official leaving date was given as 31/08/15 and with the new academic year beginning on 01/09/15 he should have no attendance marks and this is affecting the census submission. Please help!

Good morning, I have 3 templates that are used in this School and I have been asked to add and remove some columns. This is a massively time consuming task as there are approx 100 templates to edit. Is there anyone out there that has a way for this to be done in bulk? Or a system that can be purchased to assist with this maybe via the XML editing route? Any advice would be appreciated, Kind regards

Is this possible as we have what feels like millions of unused templates that are over 5 years old! Thanks in advance.

Even with everyone out of SIMS apply timetable seems to be taken a very long time, I am sure it has crashed again. I added an extra period and that is what i am applying now.

Lol thanks. I have stopped because everyone's SIMS crashed! I will wait till after School when the network manager will make sure only I am logged on. I will try that trick you mentioned at 3:30, thanks

Should everyone be logged out of SIMS whilst I apply timetable? A few have told me it has crashed on them which i assume is my fault?! Thank you very much for all your help

All I changed was the name of a period. I think the Apply Timetable process has crashed on me

Is taking ages, how long roughly would this take? I cannot tell if it is doing it or if SIMs has stopped responding.

Hello, I have just made a change and need help urgently http://awscdn.cdngeek.net/images/smilies/frown.png We have booster periods here and on the cycle they are called 'Bst'. Booster periods do not happen until a couple of weeks. But we are to rename these to "7" so that on their timetable it is considered as period 7. I did this as of tomorrow and I didn't think any attendance would be affected as the classes have not yet started. All looked good until the attendance officer tried to input future attendance grades for excluded students and she noticed that future attendance was greyed out and not editable. Obviously I am in a bit of a panic. I then reverted it back to Bst to hopefully resolve the issue but it is still an issue. Please help

I wonder if anyone can help? I am trying to calculate an overall English Language and English Lit grade since we have recently done a Mock exam. The English Lang GCSE consists of 3 Units Unit 1 out of 80 = 60% of final grade - (U1 mark/80) x 0.60 Unit 2 is not taken into consideration Unit 3 out of 80 = 40% of final grade - (U3 mark/80) x 0.40 The English Lit GCSE consists of 3 Units Unit 1 out of 68 = 40% of final grade - (U1 mark/68) x 0.40 Unit 2 out of 54 = 35% of final grade - (U2 mark/54) x 0.35 Unit 3 out of 40 = 25% of final grade - (U3 mark/40) x 0.25 Does this calculate the UMS grades? And then i need to find the corresponding grade boundaries that go with the UMS marks? Sorry if I have made no sense, but any advice would be great! George

Hello, We have renamed an aspect (including its column heading) and can see that the marksheets are using the new name, but the column headings are still using the old name. Is there an easy way to address this rather than manually editing the column heading in each marksheet?

Good afternoon, I am required to analyse the attendance of last years booster classes. I have tried to create my own report but cannot seem to do it successfully. Then I saw the SIMS report called "Lesson Attendance by Classes" located via Reports > Lesson Monitor > Whole Group Student Reports. The problem with this report is I cannot output it to Excel so that I can create a pivot table. Any advice will be hugely appreciated. Kind regards
