Backing up Sims VM using Veeam...Advice

Hi,

Were moving our Physical Sims installation to a VM next week and will be backing up using Veeam B+R

Could anyone share any advice on what schedule they have when backing up their Sims DB from a VM.

I will be applying the "application aware" processing to the backup.

We have 3 replicas per day, morning/lunch/evening. Weekly Replica separate to that. And then standard 1 backup per day.

 

Used to have it hourly (Due to some people who failed and needed rollback midday before), but found it was causing too many halts in SIMs for users who use it all day (finance etc)

Mine follows a fairly standard backup pattern, I run a dbattach backup at 10pm and then have veeam backup with Application Aware processing enabled at 11pm and that is then copied to a nas box at the other end of school.

I do reverse incremental backups 3 times a day with a physical full backup every week. I also use veeam copy backup jobs to another location that runs a deduplication appliance.
