Google Sheets - Send row to email address?

Hello,

 

We have a Google Sheet with information taken from a Google Form (absence request). Someone comes in modifies the data and then sends it to the person who put in the original request. The person doing it is copy and pasting it into an email at the moment. Is there a way to make it you can send it within sheets please? maybe an ad-don?

I can't think of an add-on that would do this out of the box, but I'm sure you could write a little bit of apps script that would run with an onEdit trigger.

The Formmule add-on will do this. Can be used with the Copydown add-on if you want to process the data first. If you want to dump the data into a doc and then share it with people, Autocrat does the job. These three add-ons automate a lot of our stuff.

Just trying Formmule, seems to do the trick. But the messages don't seem to get to the inbox.

If formmule does this it looks like you are home and dry. We use YAMM (which stands for Yet another mail merge) which does email tracking so could probably be used as an alternative and/or in conjunction with the others add-ons. I'll be looking in to Formmule and Copydown. One of my background ambitions is to build an automated electronic data parental/pupil data checking process and these apps/add-ons look as though there are worth a closer look. Yes - in the Formmule settings, you can set the merge to run on conditions - so may a Y in a given column to indicate something has been done. You can also set it to run on a schedule rather than on form submit, if someone needs to do something manually to the data. I normally use it with CopyDown which allows most data processing to be automated.

I have it running, its just the conditions stuff. I am not 100% sure. I have a column called processed by. If they is empty I don't want the merge to be triggered.

 

Would it be like the attached please?
