[1703, cu] Windows 10 1703 Sysprep issue

Hi all

 

Planning on rolling out Windows 10 in the summer, but having a mare with sys-prepping my golden image.

 

The command I use is sysprep /oobe /reboot /generalize /unattend:unattended.xml

 

I get an error and looking in the setupact.log file I find this:

 

Error SYSPRP Package Windows.ContactSupport_10.0.15063.0_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy was installed for a user, but not provisioned for all users. This package will not function properly in the sysprep image.

 

The image WAS joined to the domain - to test certain apps.

 

The image was then removed from the domain and the local admin account was used for the sysprep.

 

The app that it is failing on was installed by one of the DOMAIN accounts.

I have ensured that the profile is NOT on this image, I have also removed the profile from the registry.

 

I have tried removing the app using get-appxpackage -user stthomasmore\staff.test Windows.ContactSupport_10.0.15063.0_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy | Remove-AppxPackage

 

it wont remove it and I cant sysprep.

 

Please does anybody have an idea how I can get past this.

 

Remember, I have removed it from the domain already.

if you want to remove apps from windows 10 and sysprep you have 2 options remove from teh wim file BEFORE you do your install with dism so they are never present in the image or remove them on deployment after capture you cant install windows remove apps and sysprep it will fail i also wouldnt domain join an image im about to sysprep

The best way to setup a reference/golden image is by using WDS/MDT I have just set ours up which is working well.

The task sequence I've setup deploys windows 10 v1703 then installs prerequisite applications like c++ and office etc then a Powershell script removes the windows built-in apps plus checks for windows updates from our local WSUS server and pauses so I can install any programs we can't deploy it then does another pass for windows updates and then it sys-prep the image drops it into my captures folder and shuts down.

Manually update said App (from the App store) and this'll resolve this issue.
