Moving files from Google My Drive to Team Drive. Advice needed.

Currently at one of my schools we have a lot of photos and videos stored in Drive and I am thinking about moving these to Team drive.

 

Basically I created a folder in the root of My Drive called Photos and videos and then shared this with all the staff who then created any folder they needed inside it. I am wondering what the implications will be if I move my folder 'Photos and videos' to Team Drive? Does the folder lose all its shares?

 

I have also noticed that some of the folders created by staff within my shared folder now have the owner as them and not me, which I am sure will create an issue if I try and move my folder. Any advice so I don't botch things up.
