Microsoft should just fire everyone employed to make their licensing super complicated so they can keep their jobs, I'm not spending 50% of my time trying to work out licensing, if I wanted to do that I would have become a lawyer

Just confirmed with my MS reseller... just because the SSPR license check isn't enforced in Azure doesn't mean you can use it without paying for each user.

Speak to a different re-seller - you'll get a different answer!

I can see this licence and it is automatically applied to all our users.

 

In the Azure portal, I cant seem to configure anything, I would like to test applying licences by group membership - and thought that an Azure Basic licence would allow this?

It's meant to, but you may need to add a trial of EMS to be able to manage the licenses by groups (at least while the feature is still in Preview).
