NRS integration with TASC

Morning all

 

Anyone else out there with NRS Cashless Catering and TASC Insight?

 

Trying to setup the NRS2000Cashless.ini but just can't get it to work. Can someone paste theirs (remove the password though!!!) so I can see if what I've been given is similar?

Be careful with what NRS say is compatible with their software, and what is actually compatible with how any common sense user expects it to work.

 

I'm not saying it's not compatible, but just make sure you check the workflow of how users use whatever integration you're expecting.

 

We integrate NRS with three products, and working very well, but TASC isn't one of them.

TASC say it's compatible but it's NRS that have to provide the details.

I have a job open with NRS but as they have (apparently) 1000's of happy schools already doing this, I am hoping one of them is on here as it will be quicker....

They're also "compatible" with Inventry, but you can't use the existing Inventry card readers or wall-mounted quickscans, and you have to manually re-register any new card you issue.

Sorry to resurrect...I've made the NR2000.ini file and Insight recognises it is there, but logged in as a parent I can't see anyway of trying to access it, where should the option show up??

 

EDIT: and does it only show up if the server settings in the ini file are correct?? not 100% sure what username and password it wants.

My instructions for a NRS Cashless system with Insight

 

NRS2000Cashless.ini which goes in the Insight/bin folder of your webserver that Insight is installed on

 

DATASERVER=IP Address of server they installed Trust-E on

DATAUSERNAME=nrs

DATAPASSWORD=nrs

 

Login to Insight as Admin

Accounts - Roles - Student - Turn School Dinners On

Accounts - Roles - Parents P1 - Turn School Dinners On

 

Reports - School Dinners (checks the Sync is working)

 

Found: D:\MY_WEB\Insight\bin\NRS2000Cashless.INI

Finally become a student or parent (using Accounts - Users (Switch))

General - School Dinners (or whatever you called it if you changed the custom name) and you should see a report of food like this

 

Oh, and if I remember correctly, there is a technical reason why staff can't see their own cashless catering reports so if thats your test user, it won't ever report back!!
