localzuk Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 I have added a new laptop to our SCCM and am attempting to image it. However, it always gets a return message of "no advertisments found". The weird thing is, the log in SMSPXE.log is using the wrong ItemKey (Resource ID). It is returning 16777718 when its actual ID in SCCM is 16777788. I've checked the MAC address/GUID and they aren't the same between the 2 devices either. What is going on here??
localzuk Posted July 10, 2017 Author Posted July 10, 2017 No matter what I've done, it still thinks another machine has the same details, even though when I compare them by hand they are very very different. I've deleted the offending device and everything is working OK for my new one now. Extremely odd.
KevinB Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Does the machine by any chance have an Atheros PXE agent? We had a load and they all did this. It was highly infuriating to have to keep on tracking the wrong ID down, deleting the machine and retrying until SCCM thought it was an Unknown Computer. The only solution we found was to upgrade the firmware on the machines and that stopped this behaviour. Good luck
cooka Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Similar problem here too. We are building surface pro 4 from the Microsoft Docks. The surface is taking the mac from the dock and adding it into sccm under the machine. Had to add a reg entry to exclude the mac of the dock.
