Windows 10 DVD Playback

So it seems that Windows 10 will not play back DVDs in media player.

 

I am looking to deploy VLC across the network, however it there a way to disable it checking for updates when creating the MSI?

 

Alternatively, what have others done on Windows 10 with reference to playing DVDs?

Our DVD playing is minimal now, we use Planet eStream to host all our videos.
