You can use the API for which there is some documentation available. IMO it is a little clunky and inefficient and doesn't access all the data so there is a chance you will not find exactly what you want. I guess the other option if you are cloud is to use the reporting engine and export the outputs to csv etc.

This is to assist to bring a clarification to PCTSTRU's points rather a promotion:

We believe Bromcom facilities to access data is comparable to or better than any other new generation MIS balanced between accessibility and security being a cloud based platform.

More recent exciting addition to data access is the fact that Bromcom's Reporting Engine will be available soon to produce a script which user can use the output data from the Reporting Engine to be a "live feed" into Microsoft Power BI and Excel and updating it with a simple refresh.

Is there a guide/tutorial on how Bromcom will work with PowerBi?

I could do with something like a noobs guide.

I'm afraid we have no user guide /tutorial for Bromcom - Power BI as yet.

However we have discussion paper on the subject. We are happy to share the 'discussion paper' on restricted circulation basis with bona fide school personnel.

Please drop me pm with your details.

In my experience Bromcom can struggle to handle *very large* reports, like say pulling out every assessment result for every student. For ordinary reporting it's good: interface is simple, reports can be scheduled with dynamic time periods (e.g. beh incidents last week) and you can pull (some) data directly from within excel so it's kickass if you like spreadsheets.

Is anyone having problems printing from Bromcom in Safari. I was trying to print off a timetable for a student. The print button is beneath the timetable but when I click on this, a window pops up and gone in a split second but nothing actually prints. Is this is Safari issue? Can this be resolved.

Hi 215HAN,

We at Bromcom have looked into this issue and can print from our MIS using Safari, however you may need to ensure that your popup blocker is turned off as pressing the print button does open up another window which then generates a report and attempts to print to your local printer.

However I do suggest that if your problem persists that you call our Support Desk and they will be able investigate and diagnose the problem and provide a advice / resolution as needed.

Hi 215HAN,

thanks for this additional information. It does seem the upgrade may have something to do with it. I suggest logging your query with the Bromcom Support Desk. With their assistance I am sure you will be able to get resolution.
