Gongalong Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Hi folks, For those who have created mandatory profiles, will the list of apps be included? By list of apps I mean the bit of the start menu where the alphabetical list of apps is, rather than the tiles. Microsoft documentation says that you cannot set a start menu (or taskbar) with a mandatory profile, but this often means just the tiles https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/client-management/mandatory-user-profile Thanks
Asgard Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 (edited) For us, yes If they click all apps down the bottom Edited June 30, 2017 by Asgard 1
Gongalong Posted July 1, 2017 Author Posted July 1, 2017 Thanks. This is on 1703, so the "All Apps" bit went (possibly in the previous build also) and you get a more Windows 7 type start menu.
Gongalong Posted July 4, 2017 Author Posted July 4, 2017 Oddly I can't get a profile built in 1703 to work. Have followed the guidelines as per above link, but when I login to a user with the profile set I get the using temp profile message.

Double-check permissions on the MP folder on the share where you've put it. Server 2012 has an 'effective permissions' tab that I've found useful in the past. Also double-check that your Profile Path field for the AD user is correct. You may find this link useful too- it's a bit more tailored to 1703 than the MS page. 1
Gongalong Posted July 4, 2017 Author Posted July 4, 2017 Thanks, yep a lot of extra steps over the MS version!
