Which Watchguard to Go For

we are currently using a smoothwall, but the renewal has come way higher than anything else.

 

Watchguard have come in cheaper and ive heard good things about their products.

 

My dilema is choosing which box to buy, we are a school of 700 students and approx 120-130 staff, 400 desktops/laptops, our reseller has recommended either the M300 or M400, based on recommened user count both should be too small and i should probably look at the M500.

The reseller tells me that he has a couple of clients of a similar size using the M300 and it works fine.

 

Is anyone out there using the M300 with a similar amount of users as us?

I would go for the M400, We have one serving around 500 LAN computers plus over 200 BYOD devices and it copes perfectly we are using DPI on the LAN and all the other bells and whistles like GAV, APT etc. The 300 should be fine really but its nice to have that little bit extra in reserve.
