Chrome Remote Desktop installer closes midway through installing

I am trying to setup Chrome remote desktop app between my chromebook and work computer. When I open the app and click share it downloads the installer. I run it and it opens and then closes with no error but when I go back to the chrome remote desktop app it keeps telling me to install the msi before continuing.

 

I have tried on Windows 7 and Windows 10.

 

Anyone had similar or know of a fix?
