I started using stuff from cartridge world recently but think I will go back to proper stuff.

The toner was all over the place and out of 8 I have had 2 fail on me, they replace them but its a pain in the arse. I've never had a failure with the original ones and I've been through 50+.

I use Samsung colour Laser printers at the moment. The cost of Toners is around the 50-60 quid area but the machines still print even though the machine says the toner needs replacing. I had a CLP-500 at home and i had run out of Cyan and Magenta and low on yellow IIRC and it still printed. The only colour printing will halt on is Black.

I think this is great as it can get you out of a tight spot sometimes especially at the end of the financial year when your budget has been spent replacing toners after 300 pages of utter garbage has been printed.

I am now looking to try and reduce printed documentation wherever i can. Starting with scan to email with pdf conversion at the same time. Since most will end up on the VLE anyway soon.

Any of you budget holders thought about buying directly from distribution level?

I know the margins and getting tighter and tighter on IT kit these days but if you could shave a few pounds off...

I used to work at Welcome to Micro-P - The IT Distributor of Choice but there are others like computer 2000.

You have no chance of buying direct from the Distributors. They can't and won't sell direct to end users. Where I work get them dead cheap - if you want to know the supplier PM me

HP prices for example:

Q600xA (x is 0/1/2/3) Originals - £45

Q396xA (x is 0/1/2/3) Originals - £45 Blacks £50 Colour

C973xa (x is 0/1/2/3) Originals - £125 Black £165 Colour
