Skype desktop phone support ends

They have now officially ended support for desktop Skype phones and Skype for Windows Phones.

Messaging on Windows 10 Mobile, Windows RT and TV's will follow on July 1st.

We have Skype phones on the EduGeek desk and just tried to call it. It's dead, but still showing as connected so will have to get it plumbed though Skype on my Windows 10 desktop

We've got a couple of the Logitech Skype TV sets that stopped working a while ago when they stopped that support. I ended up being a DNS issue so I created a Skype DNS internally and they started working again. Never really liked Skype TBH, I still have o visit the heads office everytime they do a Skype interview and check it.

Could you explain a little more about the DNS fix? We had one but Logitech just gave us credit to purchase some overpriced Logitech equipment from their store that came to the value of the Skype TV Cam.

Ours wouldn't work as they were expecting a reply from skype.com. I created a DNS zone called skype.com with the A record of www pointing to a internal server so they got a reply. As soon as I did this they got past the error screen and was able to log on.
