andrewtaylor2805 Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Hi All, Firstly, I hope I have posted this in the right place as it's my first time posting. I am an IT technician working in a primary school and we have a smartboard 4065 and for the last few months the teacher has reported that it has been acting erratically, opening programs on its own and so on. I've tried cleaning the sensors all the way around, I've checked the cables that I can check are connected properly. Anyone have a fix for this?
Dom_ Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 A massive amount of these boards had faulty controllers - out of around 70 we had installed, around half have had to be replaced for issues like this (all handled fine under warranty). PIR sensors can interfere with the boards (apparently...), it's something you'll need to rule out when logging a fault, so if you have an IR sensor pointing at the board cover it/move it temporarily and see if the fault remains. Update to the latest version (the Smart drivers massively improved in 16.2, and again in 17). I assume it's doing what loads of ours did though, and constantly clicking the same spot over and over (like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7dbwomgq0f0n5zt/2016-07-01%2012.36.05.mov?dl=0) - in which case you'll need it swapping out under warranty.
andrewtaylor2805 Posted June 7, 2017 Author Posted June 7, 2017 Pleased to hear its not just this board, I will get this logged and hopefully get it sorted. Thanks for your help
