How to create a hidden share in windows 2012

I would like to create a hidden share in Windows 2012 server. I remember doing this by adding $ sign after the share in the older versions of Windows server.

Not sure if we still need to add $ after the share name to create a hidden share in windows 2012

Please post me tutorials to create this hidden share.

You just add the $ to the end of share name when you create share what share$

Right click folder to share

Click properties

Click share tab

Click advanced share

Name your share including dollar symbol

Assign relevant permissions

OK

Select security tab

Assign nt permissions

Ok

All done
