ChromeOS - Change Login Screen Wallaper

Hello,

 

All of our Chrome devices are set to forget the last logged in users so users are prompted to enter both email and password each time they use the device. On this screen the default Wallpaper for that type of device is displayed.

 

I can't see how this can be changed in the admin console. Am I missing something? Maybe it is possible to hack a restore image with a custom wallpaper?

Its not possible to change the default wallpaper - it's set by the manufacture of the device. Most new devices default to the blue "swish" now. Dells are the weirdest with the lizard.

I have just had a very quick scan of this page. I haven't read it all. But it looks like it might be soon an option to change it

Policy is there now - seems to work on any version of ChromeOS as far as I can see.

Don't know. I'll take a look at our old macs that run it tomorrow and see. Don't see why not.

They have a version number on them, with it being a non standard mod I was wondering if the setting worked.

Their latest blog post mentions they updated Chromium OS to v59 so probably no device wallpaper just yet.

We did some testing with custom login wallpaper, but it was too blurred to be of any use ver 62.....tested it on ver 64 (Canary), and the blur is removed 👓

 

Note: If the network connection is user specific (users have not shared their wireless network connection with other users), then the image will display as a white screen...making the system almost unusable
