Over the last few months we've started having a weird issue.

We noticed one of our Fileservers was becoming almost catatonic due to high disk usage. After some investigation with Resource Monitor, we determined this to be related to our roaming staff accounts having Chrome setup to roam with their Appdata directories. Sure enough, if we disable the roaming policy for Chrome, the issue goes away.

I'm wondering - has anyone else has encountered this? We're not really sure what to do as Chrome is pretty much the standard for our users at the moment. Not being able to have their user data roam means they lose bookmarks each time they log off.

You can exclude certain folders from AppData redirection. iTunes is a big issue with AppData redirection.

Can't remember off my head how to do it though....

OK so I think it is here, "Exclude directories in Roaming Profiles" in System > User Profiles.

I no longer work at the org where I done this to verify the setting though :-( .
