One of the items holding the school back from jumping to Google drive from Windows is printing. Basically KS1 need to print lots of photos and windows printing gives them a nice easy way of printing 4, 8 or more photos per page.

Is there a similar system built in Google drive.

If you look in Google Drive and find Google Photos you can preview and then print or download them all and print.

Its the download bit that I want to get away from. In order for the school to move in a google / online direction, I need them to be able to do almost everything in Google. If we had chrome books they would need the same feature.

Google Photos is it seems as bad as drive when it comes to printing photos.

I use the Sheets Add-On "Photo Gallery by Awesome Table". You just run the addon and point it at the folder or Photo album and it will put all the photos into a Slide presentation. You can then print this is a wide variety of ways.

Photo Gallery by Awesome Table

I am a little hesitant to use something like this, as it uses an external site that needs login access to the drive files. While I am sure the company are legit etc, in my mind it does open a door to the schools work / files. Or am I wrong?

They are a well-respected add-on makers - Awesome table for sites is also very good. However, you are giving permission for the code of the addon to create a file and read the contents of your Drive. You are not sending data anywhere other than Google land. We use many addons with any issues and I centrally deploy quite a lot for users. In the management console you can revoke addon permissions at anytime for any users - under Security on their account.
