sippo Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Thought I would start a new thread as it may get 'lost' in the other one. Interesting. https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/126757 3
mjk Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Sophos response is a different answer to exactly the question that I asked in another thread. The community edugeek response was differrent http://www.edugeek.net/forums/vbcms-comments/184294-article-wannacry-ransomware-info-patches-tips-disable-smbv1-2.html#post1576992
mrwoberts Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Thanks sippo We use Sophos AV and a server based console on a couple of sites. Although I'm thankful it doesn't seem to affect our Sophos products I'm shocked that a security company would rely on a protocol that, from recent reading, is grossly outdated, has been strongly advised against for a while, and clearly has the potential for problems. Add to the fact that Sophos has let a few nasties slip through over the past couple of years, I'm seriously considering moving away from Sophos. In fact, one school has just shifted to BitDefender following a bad experience with Sophos. Come on Sophos, up your game!
Fazza Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Sophos, they're really good you know as they protect large UK Organisations as they say here: 1
Fazza Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017  Needless to say, recently Sophos changed their website!!
MatthewL Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Trust I used to be at was with Sophos but went back to McAfee!
