How to Tidy and Merge Address routines in SIMS for setting - Web address validation

Hi

 

I am in a process of setting up Web Address Validation and UPRN. I have applied Web address validation licence and Bulk address validation patch on our SIMS server.

Please see the attached PDF and now I am on page no 203 Creating Batches of Addresses for Validation

It says “It is strongly recommended that the Tidy and Merge Address routines are run

Prior to creating address batches for export to the Address Validation Service”

 

Please let me know, how to run “Tidy and Merge Address routines in SIMS”

If I don’t run this will it cause any problems?

 

Any help would be great.

Tools > Housekeeping > Bulk Address Tools > Tidy and Merge

 

Well worth running termly to remvoe duplicates and any other weird formatting that may creep in from imports and user changes.

 

The first time I ran it here (they'd be using SIMS for about a year prior to this) It produced pages of changes, nowadays it produces a few lines.
