WSUS with 1607 and 2008 R2

This is odd, looking at the log in Windows\SoftwareDistribution on one of the W10 PCs that isn't showing in WSUS and the end shows:

So its getting updates from somewhere!

 

unless you disable it windows 10 will get updates from any other windows 10 based pc on your lan (so at home you donnt need to download the same updates to 4 pcs if ones on and got it they can pinch it from that machine

I did set the policy to Bypass for this and switched it off again, so thats maybe where its got those entries from.

 

It looks like wsus is just another part of the broken mess that is W10. It makes me laugh to think how much Vista was slagged off when 10 is the worst OS I've ever had to deploy, by a massive margin.

 

Looks like I'll just have to set these up to download updates as if they were home machines, which is pretty much microsofts way of thinking these days anyway.

vista was designed as a network os i still feel windows 10 isnt they can slap enterprise/education names on the end but its just not designed to be domained the way say xp was its a byod mentality where everyone is a local admin and network admins have a lite touch on it rather than lock it down
