Google Chrome Flash Player Plugin Issues

Hi, this is a really annoying issue and hope someone has a fix. The issue is when trying to open a page that has flash player on it, we just get a message saying either 'Plugin not supported' or 'Plugin needs updating'

 

Now I have tested on multiple computers with multiple accounts. If I updated the browser and then the flash player from within chrome://components It then works. If I then switch users I get the same message and need to go onto chrome://components and update flash player again.

 

It seems I need to update flash player on ever user account, now we have overs 1000 student accounts, who we can't expect to update this themselves on each computer.

 

Does anyone have and ideas on a fix. We run Windows 7 with Chrome as our default browser, we also have Impero if anyone thinks this could be an issue.

Deploy the PPAPI flash (Pepper Flash) .msi from Adobe and Chrome will use it instead of trying to install flash per-user.

I've seen this as part of Chrome not auto running Flash, if you click to update then Chrome pops up an Allow Flash box, without installing anything

I've also seen this because chrome doesn't auto run flash. Some sites click to play works and others don't.

 

I've fixed it a few times individually by going to chrome content settings and telling flash to always run.

 

I've deployed GPO settings today that will fix it for all users.

 

Google chrome / Allow outdated plug ins to run > Enabled

Google chrome/content/ default plugin settings > Allow all sites to automatically run plugins.

Also seeing the same issue. Weird thing is you can add the site to the whitelist for flash content, it works, remove from list and it still works.....

 

I read somewhere that during 2017 google are looking to block flash by default except on some top domains that still need it. Maybe what we are seeing is related to this?
