Windows 10 Wireless Hotspot CMD/Timeout

Hi All,

 

I am wanting to make use of the Wireless Hotspot feature in Windows 10 but it is designed to automatically turn off if there are no devices found for a period of time. this is annoying and there doesn't look to be a way to change this setting. Does anybody know if the timeout can be changed? or how the hotspot can be controlled via CMD as i could script it. i have tried the commands found online but they don't work/display an error. If I go into settings and enable the hotspot there it works perfectly so i know the hardware can do it.

 

 

The commands i have used and the ones Google finds every time are

 

[color=#333333][font=Inconsolata]netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=MyHotspot key=password
[/font][/color][color=#333333][font=Inconsolata]netsh wlan start hostednetwork[/font][/color]

 

Any ideas or suggestions of an alternate application will b great.
