Android Tablets

Just wondering if anyone has gone down the route of class sets of android tablets as opposed to iPads. If so;

 

1. What issues did you encounter?

2. What MDM did you use?

3. Which of the many tablets did you go for?

We are looking at ending support for IOS devices and using Chromebook / tablets instead. I am waiting for the new ASUS flip Chromebooks to be released so I can have a look.

 

Benefits:

1. MDM with G Suite

2. Can run Android Apps (they are backporting to old devices)

3. Long support periods for devices. Will receive software updates for long periods.

4. Flip back keyboards so can be used like laptops.

5. Used like a tablet in the other mode.

6. Full multi user support, login with your own credentials. Policies and app deployment per user

7. No junk apps like Android tablets. (coff coff Samsung!)

8. Similar price and sometimes cheaper than tablets.

9. Everything is stored on G Suite and not stored on the device.

10. Fully compatible with Word, Excel etc.

 

Its a good mix of laptop and tablet for a good price.

 

We already have hundreds of Chromebooks and they are working well. We have considerably less IOS devices and they require much more support than the Chromebooks do.
