RobSheehy Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Hi We are trying to install RM portico and we are coming up with this Message? Any Help anyone could give us would be amazing Thanks Rob
DarrenBaberRM Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Hi Rob, The attachment doesn't appear to be valid - can you re-post (or just type the message here please). Thanks, Darren
RobSheehy Posted April 6, 2017 Author Posted April 6, 2017 Hi Darren The Message says: There were critial error during the setup: Error adding the user to IIS group: Object not set to an instance of an object Any help you could give would be great Thanks Rob
DarrenBaberRM Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Rob, Thanks for the update. Are you installing version 1.8 of Portico and onto which server are you installing it? From the error above it does seem as though IIS is not properly installed on that server (e.g. the IIS_IUSRS group may be missing). Also, what is the OS version of the server that you are using for the install? Thanks, Darren
RobSheehy Posted April 6, 2017 Author Posted April 6, 2017 Hi Darren Yes I can confirm it is version 1.8 version of Portico. We've installed it on 3 different servers and it always returns the same message, two have been 2008r2 and on 2012r2. Is that group a local group or is it supposed to show up in Active Directory Thank you for getting back to me, I really appreciate it Rob
DarrenBaberRM Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Rob - in the release note it details the Windows pre-reqs needed for Portico to install correctly - do you have these in-place on the servers? Can you revisit the Release Note and ensure that the steps for the install of the "Web Server role" are fully met? Thanks, Darren
RobSheehy Posted April 7, 2017 Author Posted April 7, 2017 Hi Darren We've checked the release notes and we do have everything it requires and We've just reinstalled the IIS and checked everything is how it should be but still the same message Thanks Rob
RobSheehy Posted April 18, 2017 Author Posted April 18, 2017 Hi Darren I don't suppose you've had any more thoughts on this? Thanks Rob
AlanD Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Does RM support not "fix" this for you? Its not AV getting in the way is it? It installed OK for us on a 2008R2 server. (My niggle with Portico- is that when using an iPad - it insists on opening a word document straight away in pages...even though you have Office 365 and a word app)
DarrenBaberRM Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Hi Rob, Hope you are well and had a good Easter break. I knowmy colleague James Tebworth is looking to get in touch with you and arrange avisit to come and see you. James used to work on the support lines and socould have a look when he visits, I have also given him some things to thinkof as well. It feels like a Microsoft setting on the server, but hard todiagnose without a dial in. Do let me know if you have not heard fromJames. Regards, Darren
