Deployment Services Over Wifi

Hi all,

 

Quick question.

 

Is there anyway I can run deployment services over wifi ? Is there a method of maybe creating a USB boot disk that would attach to the WDS server on boot up using wifi drivers ?

As far as I'm aware you can't do this and even so, it'd end up being hit and miss and would take much longer than doing it over a wired network.

 

Do the laptops not have ethernet? If not, you can always buy USB to ethernet adapters

They do have Ethernet but with being laptops, the part of a building I was in was wifi only.

 

Never mind, will take them off for a wander and plug them in.

You'd probably spend longer getting it to work anyway haha, moving them will be the easier option, plus over wired you know you can leave it unattended

I can't see why you couldn't do it. If you start the build in a pre-existing Windows environment (a rebuild). I'd probably say yes, but it could get messy.

Yeah points to ponder, in this part of the building its running pretty decent wifi. Think Ill just move the laptops though and reimage elsewhere.
