'Stuck Pixels'?? - Can this be fixed?

As the appalling picture above just about shows I've got a SMART board with, what I think are, stuck pixels around the right hand side and top and bottom right of it. They remain on the board when I disconnect the client machine, leaving the projector on. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the projector with no effect. The bulb was replaced in November.

 

Board : SMART SBX880

Projector : NEC U250X

 

Can anyone advise of a fix?

This happened with a couple of promethean projectors here. I got told there is nothing you can do and it's a new projector.

 

Although part of me thinks you could swap out a part inside... that little 3 screen colour split block... but I'm not sure how difficult that would be. It would cost more to repair if you sent it off than to replace it.

Most are still only a little LCD panel inside, so could potentially work!

Thank you for your replies. Yeah, I think the projector is out of warranty. Not sure I'm brave enough to go tinkering with the projector internals.

get another projector for the class and then experiment on that one to see if you can fix it!

I had a similar issue with one of our NEC projector and it was under warranty - the engineer just cleaned reflector just behind the lamp...

Looking at the alignment of the white dots it looks like a faulty DMD rather than dust. It's made up of lots of tiny mirrors and some get stuck.

A few people in the comments say it fixed stuck pixels, but they might be trolling?
