imvu account

Not sure where to post this.. have a primary student who has created an account with imvu.com ( and avatar building and chatting website) parent wants to know how to disable it...safety issue

 

Googling it requires you to initially log back in before you can disable the account.. before I advise the parent to do this ( assuming the child has logged in with an email account rather than via FB or twitter) just wondered if any one has come across this and successfully disabled - deactivated - deleted an account?

I can't comment on this specific site, but usually sites like this have age requirements in their terms of service. If the student is underage, they are in breach of the terms of service so the parent is within their rights to contact the company and request the account be deleted.

 

Right down the bottom of the website are a bunch of TINY links to safety tips and stuff:

 

Be honest about your age. If you are under 13 and pretend to be older, IMVU will remove your account. If you are over 18 and pretend to be younger to contact underage users, IMVU will remove your account. If you are under 18 and pretend to be older to contact older users, IMVU will remove your account.

 

The parents should contact them asap.

 

From the terms of service:
