We are in the process of doing this, using sharepoint to create shared resources with read only for students / groups so that students get information in their inbox and can work on group files, looking into Office 365 Classroom (free at current)

What I like is that staff and students access one system to get all the information they need to learn, yes it will take a bit time for staff to add the resources but once done will be a useful learning tool. I also like that users do not have to download or upload their work once it is in Office 365 and can create work from within the Office 365 system, they can use Word / Excel / PowerPoint online and there are apps available for their mobile devices.

I will be using Azure AD connect to sync users / replace ADFS and will also be moving most of my laptops / tablets to Azure domain joined, I have already tried Azure domain join with office 365 via Set up School PCs and all went well but I am also looking into Intune for Education for more management control of these devices.

This is a working process and it will not be fully rolled out until September 2017.

For me it just felt the right way to go
