We are thinking of moving our Cashless system to Biostore and wondered if any schools on Edugeek use Biostore along with the Squid payment system?

We used it no problems, there was a couple of quirks to it i.e. having to manually create squid ID's each time a new user is added - they can do it on mass for new year groups, but for adding the odd student it was something we had to remember to do.

We moved to schoolcomms in the end, no criticism of the product, it just made sense for us as we could give the parents one logon for all of their children, for messaging, timetables, behaviour, assessment and payments rather than multiple systems.

So when a new user was added to your MIS it didn't sync so that a squid user got created?

We use a mix of biostore, sQuid card and cunninghams. Cunninghams made the sQuid sync and automated it. No manual entry or updates here.

Big issue is generating the welcome letters, I have been fobbed off so many times and now have to run a sql query on cunninghams to get a list of sQuid numbers and security codes with student names.

We use Cunningham's and use the squid letter option that is in the impact software to do this. It generates all the squid letters we need with the codes etc.

We used to do this, but then our BM wanted the letter differently laid out. Cunninghams said the new format was not possible in their template so we have had to use mail merge after I manually export from their DB files. Do you know how they update their squid letter template?

It synched fine and the user was created but we had to go to each user manually and generate the sQuid ID. It may have been resolved by now, we've not used sQuid since Easter.
