Inking on Google Slides

As part of my preparations for plans to move our trust over to G Suite and take up more cloud services as a whole, I'm trying to put together documentation, training and advice for moving our users away from ActivInspire and on to using Google Slides. It looks positive so far, but one glaring hurdle I have at the moment is that I can't see any means of inking on a presentation.

 

Is this feature available on Google Slides? Can it be achieved through a Chrome extension?

I'm not aware of any way to do this w/ Slides. It's been a bit of a hurdle for us, as well, although for slightly different reasons. Would love to know if anyone has a solution. All I have found so far is Google Drawings, which you have to separately create and insert into Slides.

We had similar ideas last year when we started using Chromebooks and were trying to find a suitable replacement for SMART Notebook. We've been using Annotate.net and it works pretty well.
