Danp Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 (edited) Had a quote to repair out Casio LED projector, it's £220.25 inc vat but shopping around I could buy one of these for £260 LED Projector HDX A60 (no free-view) - LED Projectors Edited March 20, 2017 by Danp
ComcenCraig Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 I've never heard of them but then again there will be loads of internet based suppliers I've not heard of. Personally I'd be concerned by the fact that there is no contact number for them.
difinity Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 The address listed is a residential one and the "screenshots/examples" are not photos of the projected screen. Not available on Amazon any more where it has one mediocre review detailing how it's not 3000 lumens.
Danp Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 But they are £260 This might be a more realistic option http://amzn.eu/fvzsDue
VeryPC_Colin_M Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Found this thread here where someone bought one and wouldn't recommend it; http://www.edugeek.net/forums/av-multimedia-related/169392-led-projector-hdx-a60.html For low cost, customers are asking for the Epson EB-X27 a lot which we do for £291.50 which isn't an awful lot more cash.
HTCPCP Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 (edited) A quick WhoIs search shows that the website was initially registered in 2012, but the registrant doesn't have the same address as the business, or make reference to the only business running out of the address listed on its website... Total Current Assets of around £2600 is a bit suspicious for a website selling projectors (although they class themselves as a general wholesaler too), but they have filed accounts every year. Pay a bit more, get yourself a new epson with it's warranty and easily changed bulbs! Edited March 20, 2017 by HTCPCP
Danp Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 I was looking for a cheap LED projector though given the repair for mine was £220 with only a 3 month guarantee on the work.
jmak Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 For saving money, I've been buying Hitachi projectors with bulbs, but with a 5 year projector and bulb warranty and they come out at not much more than your repair quote. If you're after led, Casio have a cash back offer on this month - cheapest I've seen is an xj-v1 at £425 (475 less 50 cash back). I did pick one up for well under £400 about 18 months ago, but everything imported seems to have got more expensive since then....
