Ok, I was thinking of replacing my HDD with an SSD for the added read/write speed benefits & to obtain built in hardware encryption. I searched online for a good SSD & decided to buy this. The problem is, I want to be completely sure that it would work with my laptop, but I don't know what specifications I need to look on my laptop to ensure SSD compatibility. Could anyone please specify what I need to look on my laptop so as to ensure that SSD is compatible? Thanks

If the hard drive in your Lenovo laptop is SATA (which it is) the 500GB Samsung 850 EVO you linked to definitely will be compatible.

Usually as long as it's the correct form factor (generally 2.5" for a laptop) and the connector is correct normally SATA 3 for a modern laptop any drive meeting those criteria should work fine
