Sheridan Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 We run GCDS to synch our AU users and groups with G Suite and it works very well. Recently one group seems to try and synch every time - its only got a couple of users in it, and the synch fails as it can't add the users as they are already there! I've checked all the ldap attributes are set correctly on the group (same as the 100's of other groups we use!) but it tries to add the group and users every time. The error when trying to create the group/add the users is: Error while creating group {0} due to address collision (either an excluded resource has this address, or a change was made outside of GCDS and the cache is stale) The message is the same for users but just says 'adding member' instead. We've used this group for some time, but only used GCDS for a couple of months, is there any reason its trying to recreate an existing group every time?
FN-GM Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 I have this as well. I haven't looked into it properly yet.
Sheridan Posted March 15, 2017 Author Posted March 15, 2017 Yeah I can see why this group is different to any of the others. I might see what google say when their live chat support comes back online!
Sheridan Posted March 15, 2017 Author Posted March 15, 2017 We updated to 4.4.26 this morning, but the problem was there before.
eddyc Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 We're now seeing this issue too. Did anyone have any joy with this? I've updated to GADS 4.4.26 hoping it would help and the issue is still there.
FN-GM Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 I don't have this issue anymore, but its now telling me its skipping adding users to groups because it will duplicate users. I was on the latest version before all this and it was ok.
eddyc Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 We found that the classroom_teachers in AD and GAfE were fighting so deleted the AD copy which seems to have solved the issue for us.
Sheridan Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 After a chat with google they told me to delete the google group and then resynch and so far that's works through several resynchs!
FN-GM Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Hmm not ideal. What implication would it have if the group is used for something?
Sheridan Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 Lucky for us this was a very small group. Deleting and resynching meant it only disappeared for about 5 minutes. Google support couldn't answer why the ad and google groups seem to fall out with each other though.
