Windows 10 File Explorer Ads

If you didn't already know, Windows 10 is now pushing ads to File Explorer

I am running Windows 10 Pro 1607 build 14393.693, and I have now started to see these ads

 

They are very infrequent at the moment, but I decide to test the following reg fix, and it seems to be working.

Edit: Obviously disabling Consumer Experience doesn't work on Pro anymore, does anyone know if disabling Consumer Experience on Education/Enterprise stops these ads?

1. Do reg fixes sent by GPP work? Startup script if not? Is there a list of them all?

2. You can manually disable the ads https://www.thurrott.com/windows/windows-10/106643/windows-10-tip-turn-off-lock-screen-start-action-center-advertising

3. I guess if you pay a subscription to use Enterprise/Education then you don't get ads, if not you're paying a subscription by seeing ads.

I can confirm its not in Enterprise LTSB 2016.

It's from build 14901 you'll see ads.

 

I'd go down the GPP route which works on any domain connected PC, if a GPO wasn't available, but I am running Windows Edu throughout.

Consumer Experiences GPO does work on Edu/Ent though.

But if you don't enable the policy, do you still get these File Explorer Ads, will Edu\Ent customers need to apply the reg fix on top of the Comsumer Experiences GPO?

I removed all the provisioned apps in pro, but non provisioned ones installed for all users automatically keep appearing, looks like I'll need a script that's run on every boot.

Did you run both Remove-AppxPackage and Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage for each app?

 

I also change the default start layout. I think the default start layout will re-populate your new user logins with apps that were on those tiles if you dont change it.
