[android] Samsung Galaxy Tab A6 SM-T280 (Disabling Kids Mode)

Hello people,

 

This is the first time I have posted on here as the wealth of information on this forum normally sees me through, but on this occasion I am completely stumped! We have 10 Galaxy Tablets used in our Music dept but recently it came to light that the students were opening up Kids Mode and setting the password so nobody could get out of the app! I have tried to delete the app but that is not possible, I have tried to govern the app through our Meraki BYOD dashboard without success, I have tried to lock or hide the app without success, I have tried to use Samsungs built in private mode but thats not available for 5.1.1 latest version. So I am stuck for ideas.

 

My question is can this be locked down or is there another solution? as this scenario must of cropt up in other schools. Any help would be most appreciated even if I am being a muppet and missing the obvious.

 

....and no I cannot root it!

Think you can create a basic user in the android options and then from the main user account you tick which apps the basic account can use. I think it will also lock other settings from being changed.

Neither, most android versions support up to 7 different users that can be either an admin or a standard user, some have kiosk modes etc.

 

You need to find the users section in the Android options, although with Samsung tablets its never in the same place on each model and is normally hidden away.

 

BTW not all Samsung phones or tablets support Androids multi user system.
