Impero licence lapse

Hiya,

 

Does anyone know from a technical point of view what happens with Impero if the licence expires on the server? Does the functionality remain for a grace period or does it stop working immediately?

I thought it stayed working, you just got no more updates or support?

I'm not sure if there are different licensing models or not. I spoke to them as I didn't want to continue paying for support (essentially that's all the license is) they agreed that it's not been good recently and said I could join back in again when I felt like it. So in short nothing! Mine has already expired and i'm still using it....

Maybe there are different types of licensing then, because at the schools I support with impero, it stops working when the license expires.

Possibly, they did say I had a perpetual license. Wasn't sure if that was normal or not. Best thing to do is speak to them, they will tell you what your licensing stance is and then you can go from there.

As others have said it will depend on whether you've got perpetual or leased licenses... @Mic_Impero should be able to advise thought and confirm which you've got if you can't find details...

Hi all,

 

There are indeed different types of licencing. If you have perpetual licencing, the software will continue to work as is, on the version you're currently on. You won't be entitled to support, training, or software upgrades.

If you are using a SaaS licence, then the software will stop working if not renewed.
